Valerie’s expertise includes building best-in-class origination teams, developing go-to-market strategies, identifying opportunities, and cultivating customer relationships.
Valerie brings more than 18 years of experience in wholesale structured and non-structured transactions for both renewable projects and conventional generation located in regulated and deregulated markets. Exhibiting proficiency in contract negotiation, contract restructuring, strategic product placement, and differentiation, as well as selling non-tangible attributes, Valerie has a successful track record of closing complex transactions. Given the experience of weathering two acquisitions, two mergers, four name changes, a bankruptcy, and an IPO, Valerie is uniquely qualified to enable transactions through innovative credit/collateral solutions, adept at consultative and relationship selling, as well as in dealing with financially challenged institutions. Prior to working in the energy industry, Valerie held various positions within the commodities space, including New Market Development Manager, Storage Product Manager, and S&D Project Manager.
Valerie holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
Valerie Wooley is the SVP of Origination at Clearway Energy Group, where she oversees the team responsible for contracting Clearway’s development assets with wholesale and corporate customers interested in community solar and utility scale renewable supply.
