2024 ESG Performance Highlights

On behalf of Clearway’s Sustainability-ESG Committee, we are pleased to present our sixth annual ESG report, which is now entirely web-based – although key items that may be of interest to some external stakeholders, such as our 2024 ESG highlights, sustainability performance metrics, GRI and SASB disclosures, and other documents are available as PDFs.

A key achievement in 2024 was the completion of our 5-Year ESG Roadmap, which provides a clear and structured approach to reaching our sustainability goals while ensuring that our efforts are generating strategic value and creating positive outcomes for the company.

2025 marks the first year of our 5-Year ESG Roadmap, and our areas of focus will include pursuing further improvement in our data collection and analysis, along with the introduction of technical solutions that will enhance our reporting while also streamlining the process. Completing these first elements will  support continued improvement of our ESG program over the next several years.

We’d also like to highlight the progress made with our regenerative development initiative. In 2021, our regenerative development definition was introduced. It recognizes the need for a proactive attitude at every project stage (development, construction, and operations) and seeks to push beyond mitigating our impacts in ways that ensure our projects actively restore and enhance the environment while also benefitting local communities.

In 2024, a guidance document that outlines best practices and identifies five potential regenerative development pilot projects was created; in 2025 site assessments for each of these pilot projects will be developed into plans, and the appropriate best management practices for their successful implementation will be determined.

Finally, we also conducted an internal survey regarding the ESG program, the results of which indicate that our colleagues believe our efforts to address Clearway’s environmental, social, and governance priorities are on track.

82% of the more than 230 survey respondents agreed or strongly agreed that our ESG policies address appropriate issues, 77% agreed or strongly agreed that our sustainability and ESG efforts are communicated clearly, and 76% agreed or strongly agreed that ESG events, conditions and risks that can impact Clearway’s business are taken into consideration.
