Our Workforce

Workforce Development

At Clearway, we recognize that our people are our most important resource, and that the transition to 100% clean energy will depend on an equitable and inclusive workforce as well as increasing diversity within our industry. In 2024, our Human Resources department led a wide variety of initiatives to attract, recruit, and retain the best talent in the country.

Evolve Mentorship Program

Our Evolve Mentorship Program pairs mentors and mentees for a nine-month partnership of mutual learning based on participants’ role and skill development objectives. In 2024, the program continued to expand with the participation of 67 mentors and 86 mentees. Notably, 29% of our operations and maintenance field staff participated in the program, as did 10% of our development team. This increase in participation was achieved by implementing changes to the program that allowed for greater flexibility to accommodate the long hours and variable schedules held by our team members in the field.

In 2024, 100% of mentees agreed that they grew personally and/or professionally as a result of participating in the program, and both mentors and mentees gave it high “net promoter scores” (NPS), indicating on a scale of 1-10 how likely they would be to recommend the program to others:

Mentee Net Promoter Scores: 9.5 NPS

Mentor Net Promoter Scores: 9.4 NPS

Participants found the experience very rewarding, as reflected in the following quotes:

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Clearway’s employee inclusion groups (EIGs) expanded in 2024 with the addition of a Fitness & Wellness group that focuses on total wellbeing, including accessibility and mental wellness. The Fitness & Wellness EIG seeks to create community by offering a variety of activities and resources designed to accommodate different interests and fitness levels, including group workouts, wellness workshops, nutritional information sessions, mindfulness practices, and much more.

This brings us to a total of eight EIGs – Allies, Asian Inclusion Group, Black Inclusion Group, Fitness & Wellness, Latinx Group (Hola!), Proud@ Clearway, VETRN, and Women’s Equity & Inclusion. In 2024 Clearway and its EIGs donated a total of $14,500 to charitable organizations and causes aligned with their areas of focus, bringing cumulative total EIG-related donations to $61,500.

Spotlight: Celebrating Diversity - and Accessibility

Spotlight: Celebrating Diversity – and Accessibility

April is “Celebrate Diversity Month,” and in 2024 Clearway’s Allies EIG held an event focused on accessibility.

The gathering featured guest speakers from the Amp1 amputee basketball team who travel the country showcasing their talents and educating a wide variety of audiences on disability inclusion. They provided an overview of the disability community and how we can all better support colleagues, friends, and family members living with a disability – including invisible disabilities.

In taking time to recognize and appreciate the differences that make us unique, we honor the many ways in which our diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives not only enrich our lives, but also contribute to Clearway’s success as a company.

We are proud to promote inclusivity in our workplace and beyond, and as such we supported the Amp1 basketball team with a donation. Visit the Ability360 website to learn more about what they do for the disability community, including sponsoring and promoting para-sports.
