Clearway Completes Construction Financing on Rosamond Central
San Francisco, CA – Clearway Energy Group (“Clearway”) announced today that it closed debt financing for its 192 MW Rosamond Central solar project in Kern County, California. NordLB acted as the Coordinating Lead Arranger, while CIT and Zions served as Joint Lead Arrangers. Construction is led by McCarthy Building Companies and is targeted for completion by the end of the year.
Rosamond Central is contracted with a diversified group of California-based municipalities and community choice aggregators (CCA), including East Bay Community Energy and Clean Power Alliance.
“We are pleased to contribute to California’s goals of achieving 100% clean energy and to partner with the state’s CCAs as a growing vehicle for energy procurement in the Golden State,” said Steve Ryder, Chief Financial Officer at Clearway Energy Group. “We appreciate the support of our financing parties in providing the capital necessary to advance Rosamond Central and other projects throughout the United States.”
Clearway is one of the largest renewable energy companies in the state with more than 1,500 MW of operating projects. Rosamond Central will expand Clearway’s footprint in Kern County, where the company operates 947 MW of renewable energy assets and invests approximately $20,000,000 in annual property taxes in the local community.
